BALTIMORE — Coin laundries in Baltimore are utilizing a new form of extra-profit center — banner advertising. Cricket Wireless, in an effort to promote its new unlimited $35 talk and text service, has placed ads in 15 different stores in the city.
The Cricket Wireless ads are wrapped around top-load washers or hung from walls on banners through a service provided by Laundromedia Inc.
“We’re very excited about the Cricket Wireless promotion,” says David Kessler, Laundromedia’s chief executive officer. “It provides extra income for owners during these tight economic times and something new for customers to look at.”
The promotion follows Laundromedia’s McDonald’s campaign in Dallas and CBS campaign in Los Angeles.
