Charlie Thompson, President and Publisher

Charlie Thompson is the president and publisher of American Trade Magazines LLC. Based in Chicago, American Trade Magazines  publishes three national publications: American Coin-Op, American Drycleaner and American Laundry News.

Mr. Thompson joined American Trade Magazines, then owned by Crain Communications, in 1989 as midwestern sales manager and was later promoted to national sales manager in 1994. In 1997, he was named associate publisher and, one year later, named publisher and vice president of the group in 1998. As publisher, Mr. Thompson has overall responsibility for editorial, production, circulation, promotion and sales operations.

In addition to the print publications, Mr. Thompson also directs the related Web sites: AmericanCoinOp.com, AmericanDrycleaner.com andAmericanLaundryNews.com.

Active in a number of professional associations, his memberships include the Textile Care Allied Trade Association, American Reusable Textile Association, Textile Rental Services Association, American Hotel and Lodging Association, International Drycleaners Congress and the National Association of Institutional Laundry Management.

Mr. Thompson comes from a family spanning 3 generations in publishing. He graduated with a bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
 


Bruce Beggs, Editorial Director

Editorial Director Bruce Beggs has been the editor of American Laundry News since 1999. He is now responsible for the editorial content for all three publications, utilizing the diverse talents of industry experts and freelance contributors.

 


Donald Feinstein, National Sales Director

National Sales Director Donald Feinstein oversees all advertising sales for the group’s print publications and digital media products. Feinstein joined Crain Communications in 1996 and helped produce a dozen business and trade publications over several years. He joined ATM in 2001 as the group’s production manager, overseeing the transition to an all-digital workflow. In 2005, he moved into ad sales and became Eastern regional sales manager.

 


Nathan Frerichs, Digital Media Director

Digital Media Director Nathan Frerichs joined ATM as web editor in 2010. After many years working as a print writer, designer and photographer, Frerichs crossed the digital divide in 2003 and hasn’t looked back. His responsibilities now include developing and designing the three publications’ websites, e-newsletters and other new-media projects.
