Bulkhead Contains Instant Water Heater for Space Savings, Other Benefits

High Mark Manufacturing introduces its newest product, a laundry service center (bulkhead) containing an instant water heater.

Not only does having the water heater in the bulkhead save the space typically needed for a water heater and storage tank, the company says, also gone is the need for a second water line. The cold feed to the bulkhead supplies both the hot- and cold-water lines to the washers.

Other benefits include cost savings in construction due to elimination of some in-house plumbing; both the heater and bulkhead are UL and/or CSA listed; and instant hot water is delivered to machines without having to travel from a faraway utility room.

Bulkhead wraps are available to provide a splash of color or display some advertising, the company says.

High Mark partnered with water heater manufacturer Hamilton Engineering in the venture. High Mark sells the bulkhead that is retrofit for the instant water heater, while the laundry distributor purchases the heater from Hamilton Engineering. When the bulkhead and the heater arrive at the installation site, the distributor has literally a plug-and-play package that can be assembled in minutes, High Mark says.
