ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Former Mac-Gray route sales manager brings more than two decades of experience to new role

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Industry veteran Gustavo Gutierrez has been named national sales manager of Commercial Laundry Systems for LG Electronics USA, the company reports.

Gutierrez brings more than two decades of experience to his new role at LG, where he will be responsible for developing and managing programs to differentiate LG in the route/multi-housing and coin/OPL markets in the United States.

“Gustavo’s extensive experience in the commercial laundry industry will take our leadership to the next level as we work to become a significant player in the U.S. marketplace,” says Stefan Meir, Commercial Laundry director, LG Electronics USA. “His vision and leadership will helpgustavo gutierrez lead to the continued expansion of our route network, as well as attracting new, high-quality distributors.”

Gutierrez comes to LG Electronics from Mac-Gray, where he served as a route sales manager in the South Florida market. While there, he also launched The Bid Shop, an online platform to connect service professionals with companies looking for proposals.

“LG’s innovative laundry products offer an exciting opportunity for our distributor network,” says Gutierrez. “My focus is to build on LG’s momentum to help the business grow further and enjoy a similar strong reputation in the commercial space as it has in the consumer laundry market.”

RIPON, Wis. — Assumes responsibility for managing Speed Queen, UniMac, Huebsch, IPSO and Cissell brands

RIPON, Wis. — Commercial laundry equipment manufacturer Alliance Laundry Systems has promoted Bill Bittner to vice president of North American sales. He succeeds Jeff Brothers Sr., senior vice president of North American sales, who is retiring at month’s end after 35 years of service.

Beginning Dec. 1, Bittner will be responsible for managing Alliance Laundry’s well-known brands, which include Speed Queen®, UniMac®, Huebsch®, IPSO®, and Cissell®, through a team of national sales managers and their respective regional sales managers. Additionally, he will oversee pricing, budgets, forecasts, sales promotional activity and distributor development.

bill bittnerDuring his 15-year tenure at Alliance, Bittner has held a wide variety of positions that include leadership roles in sales, manufacturing, and genuine parts. He most recently served as vice president of Customer One, the global company initiative focused on customer service.

“Bill’s passion for sales combined with his creativity and experience in the commercial laundry business makes him an ideal choice to lead our North American sales organization,” says Mike Schoeb, Alliance Laundry’s president and CEO. “In his new role, he will continue to be an essential member of Alliance Laundry’s leadership team.”

Bittner graduated with honors from Wilfrid Lauier University, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He participated in three major acquisitions and the integration of those companies, resulting in “significant market share, sales and profit growth.”

INWOOD, N.Y. — Laundrylux, distributor of Electrolux and Wascomat laundry equipment, has promoted Robert Hinojosa to regional business manager, coin, for its Northeast Territory.

“Robert is a great asset to our company,” says Laundrylux President Howard Herman. “He started out in Inside Sales about four years ago and has steadily taken on additional work and responsibilities. Robert served as an interim RBM for the West Coast over the past year and did a super job.”

Hinojosa was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where his father and grandfather were partners in multiple coin stores. “Needless to say, I spent many weekends with my father keeping the stores clean and maintaining machines,” he says.

After college, Hinojosa’s grandfather, a long-time Wascomat distributor, asked him if he would like to work for his company selling Wascomat equipment. Hinojosa says the first-hand experience gave him great insight into the distribution business.

“Robert joined Laundrylux with the goal of becoming a regional (business manager), and he worked very hard to achieve that goal,” says Laundrylux COO John Sabino. “When this new opportunity arose, we knew the timing was right and (that) Robert was the man for the job. His knowledge of financing, new store development, and products has continued to grow, and we are confident he will be a great asset to the Wascomat and Electrolux coin distributors in the Northeast region.”

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Maytag® and Whirlpool® Commercial Laundry recently appointed Robert English as general manager of Global Commercial Laundry at Whirlpool Corp.

English’s responsibilities include managing the ongoing business strategy and overseeing marketing and sales, product development, quality, parts and service components of the commercial laundry business unit.

“Whirlpool Corp. recognizes the commercial laundry business is very different from the residential side and is dedicating special resources to ensure its continued success,” says Wes Pringle, vice president strategic business units at Whirlpool. “Bob’s recent appointment is part of a strategic process to support our customers and position the company to become the leader in the commercial laundry industry.”

Previously director of Commercial Laundry in 2000, English’s most recent role included managing Whirlpool’s laundry and refrigeration sales and marketing efforts with Lowe’s.

RIPON, Wis. — Alliance Laundry Systems has promoted William Bittner to vice president of Customer One, the company’s global initiative focused on customer service and satisfaction, and selected Dan Bowe to replace Bittner as national sales manager of Speed Queen’s commercial division.

“Bill has been a valuable asset to this organization for many years and his experience with sales and customer relations made him an ideal candidate for this role,” says Mike Schoeb, president and CEO of Alliance Laundry Systems. “I am confident that Bill will be a positive driving force leading Customer One on a global scale.”

Since joining Alliance in 1996, he has held a variety of senior sales and marketing positions. He has particular expertise in manufacturing, distribution services and advancements in card technologies, according to Alliance.

RIPON, Wis. — Alliance Laundry Systems LLC has promoted Michael D. Schoeb to chief executive officer. All executive staff will report to Schoeb in his combined role as president and CEO.

Thomas F. L’Esperance will become vice chairman of the board of directors of parent company ALH Holding Inc. L’Esperance joined Alliance in 1996, having previously served as president of Amana Home Appliances and Caloric Corp. and as a senior executive of Raytheon Co. He will continue to serve as a director and will maintain his office here.
